سُورَةُ الإِنسَانِ

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ هَلْ أَتَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ حِينٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْـًۭٔا مَّذْكُورًا ﴿1﴾
Hal ataa 'alal insaani heenum minad dahri lam yakun shai'am mazkooraa
76:1Has there been a period of time for man when he was not anything worthy of mention?
إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍۢ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ سَمِيعًۢا بَصِيرًا ﴿2﴾
Innaa khalaqnal insaana min nutfatin amshaajin nabta leehi faja'alnaahu samee'am baseeraa
76:2Indeed We created man from the drop of a mixed fluid so that We may put him to test, so We endowed with hearing and sight.
إِنَّا هَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلسَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًۭا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا ﴿3﴾
Innaa hadainaahus sabeela immaa shaakiranw wa immaa kafoora
76:3Indeed We have guided him to the way, be he grateful or ungrateful.
إِنَّآ أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ سَلَٰسِلَا۟ وَأَغْلَٰلًۭا وَسَعِيرًا ﴿4﴾
Innaaa a'tadnaa lilkaa fireena salaasila wa aghlaalanw wa sa'eeraa
76:4Indeed for the faithless We have prepared chains, iron collars, and a blaze.
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍۢ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا ﴿5﴾
innal abraara yashra boona min kaasin kaana mizaa juhaa kaafooraa
76:5Indeed the pious will drink from a cup seasoned with Kafur,
عَيْنًۭا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ ٱللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًۭا ﴿6﴾
'Aynany yashrabu bihaa 'ibaadul laahi yafajjiroonahaa tafjeeraa
76:6a spring where Allah’s servants will drink, making it gush forth as they please.
يُوفُونَ بِٱلنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًۭا كَانَ شَرُّهُۥ مُسْتَطِيرًۭا ﴿7﴾
Yoofoona binnazri wa yakhaafoona yawman kaana sharruhoo mustateeraa
76:7They fulfill their vows and fear a day whose ill will be widespread.
وَيُطْعِمُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِۦ مِسْكِينًۭا وَيَتِيمًۭا وَأَسِيرًا ﴿8﴾
Wa yut''imoonat ta'aama 'alaa hubbihee miskeenanw wa yatemanw wa aseeraa
76:8For the love of Him, they feed the needy, the orphan and the prisoner,
إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ ٱللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَلَا شُكُورًا ﴿9﴾
Innaamaa nut'imukum li wajhil laahi laa nureedu minkum jazaaa'anw wa laa shukooraa
76:9[saying,] ‘We feed you only for the sake of Allah. We desire no reward from you, nor thanks.
إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًۭا قَمْطَرِيرًۭا ﴿10﴾
Innaa nakhaafu mir Rabbinna Yawman 'aboosan qamtareeraa
76:10Indeed we fear a frowning and fateful day from our Lord.’
فَوَقَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّىٰهُمْ نَضْرَةًۭ وَسُرُورًۭا ﴿11﴾
Fa waqaahumul laahu sharra zaalikal yawmi wa laqqaahum nadratanw wa surooraa
76:11So Allah saved them from that day’s ills and graced them with freshness [on this faces] and joy [in their hearts].
وَجَزَىٰهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ جَنَّةًۭ وَحَرِيرًۭا ﴿12﴾
Wa jazaahum bimaa sabaroo janatanw wa hareeraa
76:12He rewarded them for their patience with a garden and [garments of] silk,
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًۭا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًۭا ﴿13﴾
muttaki'eena feeha 'alal araaa 'iki laa yarawna feehaa shamsanw wa laa zamhareeraa
76:13reclining therein on couches, without facing any [scorching] sun, or [biting] cold.
وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًۭا ﴿14﴾
Wa daaniyatan 'alaihim zilaaluhaa wa zullilat qutoofu haa tazleela
76:14Its shades will be close over them and its clusters [of fruits] will be hanging low.
وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِـَٔانِيَةٍۢ مِّن فِضَّةٍۢ وَأَكْوَابٍۢ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا۠ ﴿15﴾
Wa yutaafu 'alaihim bi aaniyatim min fiddatinw wa akwaabin kaanat qawaareeraa
76:15They will be served around with vessels of silver and goblets of crystal
قَوَارِيرَا۟ مِن فِضَّةٍۢ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًۭا ﴿16﴾
Qawaareera min fiddatin qaddaroohaa taqdeeraa
76:16—crystal of silver— [from] which they will dispense in a precise measure.
وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًۭا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا ﴿17﴾
Wa yusawna feehaa kaasan kaana mizaajuhaa zanjabeelaa
76:17They will be served therein with a cup of a drink seasoned with Zanjabeel,
عَيْنًۭا فِيهَا تُسَمَّىٰ سَلْسَبِيلًۭا ﴿18﴾
'Aynan feeha tusammaa salsabeelaa
76:18from a spring in it named Salsabeel.
۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌۭ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًۭا مَّنثُورًۭا ﴿19﴾
Wa yatoofu 'alaihim wildaanum mukhalladoona izaa ra aytahum hasibtahum lu'lu 'am mansoora
76:19They will be waited upon by immortal youths, whom, were you to see them, you will suppose them to be scattered pearls.
وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًۭا وَمُلْكًۭا كَبِيرًا ﴿20﴾
Wa izaa ra ayta summa ra ayta na'eemanw wa mulkan kabeera
76:20As you look on, you will see there bliss and a great kingdom.
عَٰلِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌۭ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌۭ ۖ وَحُلُّوٓا۟ أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍۢ وَسَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًۭا طَهُورًا ﴿21﴾
'Aaliyahum siyaabu sundusin khudrunw wa istabraq, wa hullooo asaawira min fiddatinw wa saqaahum Rabbuhum sharaaban tahooraa
76:21Upon them will be cloaks of green silk and brocade and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them to drink a pure drink.
إِنَّ هَٰذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَآءًۭ وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا ﴿22﴾
Innaa haazaa kaana lakum jazz 'anw wa kaana sa'yukum mashkooraa
76:22[They will be told]: ‘This is your reward, and your efforts have been well-appreciated.’
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَنزِيلًۭا ﴿23﴾
Innaa nahnu nazzalnaa 'alaikal quraana tanzeelaa
76:23Indeed We have sent down to you the Quran in a gradual descent.
فَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ ءَاثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًۭا ﴿24﴾
Fasbir lihukmi Rabbika wa laa tuti' minhum aasiman aw kafooraa
76:24So submit patiently to the judgement of your Lord and do not obey any sinner or ingrate from among them,
وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةًۭ وَأَصِيلًۭا ﴿25﴾
Wazkuris ma Rabbika bukratanw wa aseelaa
76:25and celebrate the Name of your Lord morning and evening,
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَٱسْجُدْ لَهُۥ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًۭا طَوِيلًا ﴿26﴾
Wa minal laili fasjud lahoo wa sabbihhu lailan taweelaa
76:26and worship Him for a watch of the night and glorify Him the night long.
إِنَّ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ يُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَآءَهُمْ يَوْمًۭا ثَقِيلًۭا ﴿27﴾
Inna haaa'ulaa'i yuhibboona 'aajilata wa yazaroona waraaa'ahum yawman saqeelaa
76:27Indeed they love this transitory life, and disregard a heavy day that is ahead of them.
نَّحْنُ خَلَقْنَٰهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَآ أَسْرَهُمْ ۖ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَآ أَمْثَٰلَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا ﴿28﴾
Nahnu khalaqnaahum wa shadadnaaa asrahum wa izaa shi'naa baddalnaaa amsaala hum tabdeelaa
76:28We created them and strengthened their joints, and We will replace them with others like them whenever We like.
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًۭا ﴿29﴾
Inna haazihee tazkiratun fa man shaaa'at takhaza ilaa rabbihee sabeela
76:29This is indeed a reminder. So let anyone who wishes take the way toward his Lord.
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًۭا ﴿30﴾
Wa maa tashaaa'oona illaa anyyashaaa'al laah; innal laahaa kaana'Aleeman Hakeema
76:30But you will not wish unless it is willed by Allah. Indeed Allah is all-knowing, all-wise.
يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَآءُ فِى رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۢا ﴿31﴾
Yudkhilu mai yashaaa'u fee rahmatih; wazzaalimeena a'adda lahum 'azaaban aleemaa
76:31He admits whomever He wishes into His mercy, and He has prepared a painful punishment for the wrongdoers.
