Al-Qaari'a

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ﴿1﴾

Al qaari'ah

101:1The Catastrophe!

مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ﴿2﴾

Mal qaariah

101:2What is the Catastrophe?

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ﴿3﴾

Wa maa adraaka mal qaari'ah

101:3What will show you what is the Catastrophe?

يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ ﴿4﴾

Yauma ya koonun naasu kal farashil mabthooth

101:4[It is] the day when mankind will be like scattered moths

وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ ﴿5﴾

Wa ta koonul jibalu kal 'ihnil manfoosh

101:5and the mountains like carded wool.

فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ﴿6﴾

Fa-amma man thaqulat mawa zeenuh

101:6As for him, whose deeds weigh heavy in the scales,

فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍۢ رَّاضِيَةٍۢ ﴿7﴾

Fahuwa fee 'ishatir raadiyah

101:7he will have a pleasing life.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ ﴿8﴾

Wa amma man khaffat mawa zeenuh

101:8But as for him, whose deeds weigh light in the scales,

فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌۭ ﴿9﴾

Fa-ummuhu haawiyah

101:9his home will be the Abyss.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ ﴿10﴾

Wa maa adraaka maa hiyah

101:10And what will show you what it is?

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ ﴿11﴾

Naarun hamiyah

101:11It is a scorching fire!
